Changing of a clutch

The biggest problems which can occur with a clutch – the burning down of the disc friction material. This material is very similar to the material which is used in the braking systems. When this material is worn out, one can experience and feel slipping/slippage of a clutch mechanism.

A clutch becomes worn-out, only when a clutch disk and a flywheel rotate at different speeds. When they are joined together, the friction material (the material which is most frequently used nowadays, is ceramic material) is pressed against a flywheel, and the rotation speed is identical (with an insignificant deviation). A cutch becomes worn-out only at the identical speed drive (that’s why it isn’t surprising, that a clutch wears out much faster, when an inexperienced driver drives a car, compared with cases when a car is driven by an experienced driver).
